Hi! We tried Jim's method, and it says install failed without even a pause.
It is showing up on drives E and K but both say install failed. We do not
have Vista. It just isn't doing anything, not loading drivers or anything
even after we wait.

It does have to install about five different drivers.

When we tried it on my computer rather than Carson's, it keeps giving a
dialog box about installing new hardware, and it kind of creates a loop.
When I press finish, it goes back and asks me to install new hardware with
the wizard. I don't know what to do. It is not working on either of our
computers.

Wait wait, don't panic.
Sometimes, it may take 5 to 10 minutes for the magic jack to install its
software, so please plug in the jack, be patient and stand by.

Hi! We just bought the Magic Jack, but we can't get it to work. When we
put it into the usb port, it brings up a window that asks what type of
action we wish to perform, including a lot of stuff having to do with photos
and other programs, and the list has nothing to do with Magic Jack. When we
cancel out, it takes us directly to the desktop and does nothing else. This
was supposed to be simple! Smile

Karen,

You can listen to my demo of Magic Jack that Jim so graciously posted from
our March 2008 meeting at
http://www.shellworld.net/~jimkc/jack.mp3

I still think this is the cheapest, if not the most reliable, way to go.
$50 for 5 years of unlimited service is hard to beat.

Subject: [real-eyes] Internet Phone Services

Hello all! I want to explore some internet phone services. I don't mean
talking with a microphone on your computer. I mean something like Magic
Jacks (I don't know how to spell it) or something similar. We are thinking
of using such a service, which I hear is only about $30 per year. Does
anyone have any information on this or ideas of where I should look? Thanks
in advance.
With a smile,
Karen
