Fred's Head from APH: Get Notified If Someone Logs into Your FaceBook Account With all the privacy issues surrounding Facebook recently, you may be keeping a closer eye on your FaceBook account activity. Use this built-in Facebook feature to get notified when a computer besides your own accesses your account. Even if you've dug around Facebook's privacy preferences, you may have missed this handy little feature. By enabling it, you can register your computer (and any other private computers from which you access Facebook regularly), and receive email and SMS notifications when a computer other than one of your registered ones accesses your account. It's a nice safety net to have should anyone ever get your password or otherwise hack your account. To enable it: list of 6 items 1. Head over to Facebook and log in. 2. In the upper right hand corner of the screen, click on the "Account" drop down menu and select Account Settings. You'll be taken to a page with a number of settings, some of which you may have visited before. 3. Navigate to the bottom of the page, right above "Deactivate Account", is a preference called Account Security. Click the "change" button on the right side and you'll be presented with the option of enabling notifications. 4. The default is no, so click yes and then hit Submit. 5. Log in and out of Facebook and you'll be prompted to register your computer. 6. Give it a name you'll remember and save it. list end From now on, if your account is accessed from a non-registered computer, you'll get an email alert.
