Please find below the information outlining details for next Thursdayâ??s vigil
being held to honor Chipâ??s life. I would appreciate it if you would please
help us distribute to others and by posting on lists where Chip was known.

The Whole Person cordially invites you to attend a vigil to honor the memory of
Chip Bloch, on the one month anniversary of the tragic traffic incident which
took Chipâ??s life.

When? Thursday, September 29 from 5:00 â?? 5:30 PM

Where? On the northwest corner of Main and 31st.

We will carry signs bearing messages honoring Chipâ??s memory, raising driver
awareness of the critical importance of watching out for pedestrians and
reminding Kansas City of its obligation to create and maintain a safe and
accessible environment for all its residents.

On the morning of August 29, Chip Bloch who is visually impaired and in the
cross walk was fatally struck down by a driver turning left at 31st and Main,
where there was no accessible pedestrian signal installed which would have
provided an audible cue announcing when it was safe for pedestrians to cross.
Chip, who always had a smile or a little humor for everyone, is survived by His
wife, Sherri, his father and brother, and many other family members. He is
terribly missed.

Please direct questions and RSVP to Sheila at 816-896-6552 or
sstyron@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, as this information is necessary for purchasing
supplies for creating signs.

Parking is available, and if you need an address for transportation purposes,
3010 Main is the address for the back entrance to the Rehabilitation Institute
of Kansas City. From there walk south to the northwest corner of 31st and Main,
or get the driver to drop you off at the northwest corner of 31st and Main.
