I had a question about if the "screen reader" in the Fire Stick would
work inside the Netflix app as it didn't in an old demo I listened to.
I sent a tweet and the folks over at Blind Bargains retweeted it and I
got a reply this morning saying it does work inside the netflix app and
does a good job too.
So I'll be ordering one from Amazon. As of last night they are back
ordered until April 20 something but knowing how things like that have
worked in the past on amazon, I won't be shocked to find they get them
back in stock in a week or so.

If you plan on using the Fire TV stick to consume only content from
Amazon such as movies or music and want an inexpensive Amazon Alexa,
this might be a good option for you.
It does connect to a HDMI port on your television and you would have to
switch the input in the menus of your tv or button on your tv remote if
it offers such a thing to change inputs.
It does connect via WiFi and will require an AC outlet for power.
As you'll hear in the demo below, right now the Fire stick with voice
remote doesn't work with other apps like Netflix, Hulu, HBO etc...
If you launch one of these other apps the Fire stick isn't able to
navigate or make selections. One would hope that is something that
Amazon will fix.
If you want to watch content you purchased from Itunes or any other
service, you won't be able to access it with the Fire stick.
Sure, even if you use it as just a $39 alexa, remember you'll need to
turn your television on and make sure its on the correct input before
interacting with her.
Listening to the demo below, you'll hear its easy to navigate within the
Amazon world of available shows and movies. Remember that any content
that isn't prime eligible, may have a cost involved. The items are
listed as to if they are Prime or not.

demo the person spends a few minutes playing around with his new
television before starting to demonstrate the Fire stick.
