Fall/Winter Train Season 2021-22
We are about to embark on a journey through the period of the year we have all
been waiting for……the Thanksgiving through mid-January holiday display season.
This is NOT a call for when you are available….that will come later this month.
Time Line
Nov 13. RC3R Meeting at Westchester Commons 9-11. Open House for the Public
11-3.
November 20-21 VTC show at Westchester Commons.
Saturday 9-4 and Sunday 9-3
We will have two shifts to cover each day.
Saturday 9-12:30 and 12:30-4
Sunday 9-12 and 12-3.
Start thinking about the days/times you can and cannot participate.
Following this show, on Sunday at 3PM, we will take down, pack and load the
layouts for transport to the Science Museum of VA…….we will likely be done
about 6PM.
Monday, Nov 22 we will meet at the Science Museum of VA at 0900. The Train
exhibit is in the Goddard Center. Enter from DMV Drive. The gate code is 4000.
The time is 8:30-5 each day Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov 26-28 (the 1st
hour each day is MEMBERS ONLY)
We will have two shifts 8-12:30 and 12:30-5 each day.
Take down and load is Sunday 5PM……we are usually done by 7-7:30
Start thinking about the days/times you can and cannot participate.
Monday November 29 is set up at the Great Big Green House at 9AM
Opening night is officially Friday December 3…….but I suspect trains will be
running sooner.
Our last day is Saturday, January 15….which is Kids Day in the Garden…….
Times are up in the air but start thinking about your availability….there will
be weekend times, our traditional Friday evening time, and some weekday
times……we will likely schedule December initially and the schedule January
sometime in mid to late December
