[ratpack] camera accessory

I'm thinking of purchasing one of the aftermarket eyecups for my
camera...supposedly one that will fit over my eyeglasses.
Has anyone had experience with them; do they work, what is the benefit, rather
than increasing the coolth of your camera, and do they reduce the area of the
viewfinder that is visible, because of the additional distance between your
eyeand the viewfinder?
