Do you have any plans to create a similar API in upstream code? It's quite
difficult to use internal API without detailed documentation.
I had built a few small private RackTables APIs to implement specific
automation projects as a part of my job. When there is a single paying customer
with a single project, that is doable.
A public API would be a much bigger and longer job, and people that are
competent enough to do it usually have other work to do. Ian is likely the only
developer to even start such a project.
There are a few well-established and useful functions like spotEntity(),
considerGivenConstraint() and so on, those make it relatively simple to develop
custom extensions. It would be nice to have all of them documented if anyone is
willing to spend their time on that.
I'm not php developer, so i can easily use bash + curl, but php..
A few days ago you mentioned you added HP Procurve support to the 802.1Q code,
which is PHP.
