In 17.1, the version that we are using, I've changed the object type of
existing objects and that worked as far as I know. We've changed object
types in the past when refining a generic object type for example.

Kind regards,

Subject: [racktables-users] Q: changing object type

Hello, list.

I see, that it's not possible to change the type of an existing object
(there is an error shown, if the SELECT selection was changed on
"Properties" tab). Nobody has complained about it thus far, so I would
prefer just to drop this SELECT instead of fixing its handling. This way
object type will be permanent for each object. Any objections against
doing this?
