The snow is mostly gone - I did a few laps in our backyard - and took the
scales from the bathroom.
Since it’s a floppy thing I did front- and back-wheel separately.
Front: 13 kg - Back: 5 kg - should be something like 18 kg altogether (the
overall weight when shipping with the box was 22 kg).
Since the training wheels are still in the making I tried without again and did
something new:
Circles! - kind of controlled tipping over and compensating with the steering
or faster pedalling.
This was actually easier than trying to drive a straight line.
There is not enough room in our backyard - I can either go a straight path to
the street - turn around (manually) and come back again.
Or do the circles (about 5-6 m diameter) in the backyard between the garages.
Now I am soaked (from the sweat) and my legs are cramping (from getting up in
all kinds of awkward positions).
30 minutes seems to be enough workout at my age ;-)
Have a nice Sunday - spring is coming (at least in our area)!
I just heard a few swarms of migrant birds passing.
Cheers,
Christian

Dear Christian,
looks VERY interesting!
Could you make the connection to the builder available?
How much does the bike weigh in kg?
Kind regards,
Max

The day has come - I am now owner of a brand-new python (called PythonIK).
I wanted to do this for years and years but could not find a start - until I
met Ingo Kollibay - a German custom bike builder from Hildesheim - who
helped to make the dream come true.
You find some pictures here: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmdFUT2B - as soon as I got ;
new login credentials for openbike.org I can add some details there as well.
Currently I am doing my riding lessons and feel like a bloody child again.
I am from Solingen (near Cologne / Düsseldorf / Wuppertal) - so if there is
any Python owner around who likes to proof-ride my machine: you are welcome.
Just drop me a note.
Cheers,
Christian
