The BEST use of my old slide-rule was when my cousin had his broken
leg ‘wrapped’ in a cast by the emergency room doctor after breaking a
bone when he fell off his bicycle.
The slide rule (as it turned out) was the both the easiest and BEST cure for
the ‘itching’ that his fingers could not reach about 9 inches down from the
top.

It is a useful tool for multiplication, division, logarithms and
trigonometric functions, but pretty useless for addition and subtraction ...
