One alternative, at least for Mac - a bit clunky, since it includes the headers as part of each message - is to download the Zip files, then decompress (I'm using Stuffit Expander, the Mac equivalent of WinZip). Then you can open each file with Word, using the "retrieve text from any document" setting. This, too, avoids Eudora; from my point of view, that's good - I have enough ways to access email on my computer already.

Many thanks for stepping up to the plate, Jeffrey. I haven't been an archive user (yet), but who knows?

No objections from me.  Thanks for doing this Jeffrey.

On a similar note, I have been independently working on converting these archives to a stand-alone database format in collaboration with another Pure Silver list member. (If they happen to read this - I've been waiting for ages for a reply from you!!)

The advantage or difference with this method is that viewing the files doesn't require one to install Eudora; having said that, it isn't my area of expertise.  My job is to parse the data and label it , not place it into the database.
