I just got rid of some prints yesterday from 8x10 negatives like that. I had tried to make use of the hard to print negatives by scanning and printing digitally, but it didn't help much. However, I was able to trade those digital prints for some firewood.
It seems as if as the size of the negative goes up, the number of ways you can screw up goes up too.
I think some of my 8x10 holders might leak because I get flares like that from time to time too.
