Years ago, before Kodak discontinued Pan-X, I used the Beutler formula with it for several years and got very good results. Was very unhappy when this very nice film was no longer available. -----Original Message----- From: pure-silver-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:pure-silver-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Gene Johnson Sent: Friday, February 25, 2005 2:32 PM To: pure-silver@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [pure-silver] Re: Gigabitfilm Plain water. I can't remember if I did a pre-soak though. I always presoak Efke now. I did get good results using the ancient Windisch compensating formula. That's the one with just catechol, sodium sulfite, and sodium hydroxide. It seemed to toughen the efke a little, really handy, since that emulsion is so fragile when wet. Now I'm just using Rodinal 1:50 or 1:100 for the Efke, and I don't have to worry about Techpan any more. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Koch, Gerald" <gkoch02@xxxxxxxxxx> To: <pure-silver@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, February 25, 2005 11:03 AM Subject: [pure-silver] Re: Gigabitfilm > Did you use an acid stop bath or a plain water rinse? > > -----Original Message----- > From: pure-silver-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx=20 > [mailto:pure-silver-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Gene Johnson > Sent: Friday, February 25, 2005 1:56 PM > To: pure-silver@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [pure-silver] Re: Gigabitfilm > > > I tried the internet H&W developer on Efke 25 and Techpan and got lots > of pinholes. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Koch, Gerald" <gkoch02@xxxxxxxxxx> > To: <pure-silver@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Friday, February 25, 2005 7:56 AM > Subject: [pure-silver] Re: Gigabitfilm > > > > Probably not low contrast enough.
