It's simple: the look of film can only be achieved digitally using a
tube computer.
Tubes produce whiter 1's and blacker 0's.
I used to program an IBM 704 computer. IIRC, it used about 5000 vacuum
tubes.
Well, when *I* was young, we didn't even have 1s and 0s ... we had to
settle for "ohs" and "ells"...
