Bob, I think thats backwards.
I’m still having problems trying to get photoshop 0.9 to boot on my pdp11. One
major issue is writing code for a Unibus to USB driver, so I can use a
conventional scanner, but I’m optimistic that using 19 bit core memory will
give me more subtle gray's with more pleasing transitions and better flesh
tones, in Black and White of course.

It's simple: the look of film can only be
achieved digitally using a tube computer.
Tubes produce whiter 1's and blacker 0's.
