There are many ways to do this, three I have used with my very similar M601:

1. On the 601 there are two positions to mount the column, the second one is about 2 inches 50mm higher.

2. Reverse the column and project onto the floor

3. Rotate the head 90 degrees and project onto the wall.

4! Use a 75mm lens or a 60mm WA design rather than an 80

5!! (I know, I can't count) find a small +1 diopter to screw into the front of your lens to shorten the FL just a bit, it's not ideal but been there done that on machines that aren't Durst.

DEAR JANET,

If I understand you correctly you want enlarge head a bit higher for the same amount of enlargement (size print). So you want a slightly longer lens than your 80mm.  I just searched for "100 mm enlarging lenses" on ebay and there are many, many available starting at around $65 US for componons and up to $1000 for a Leitz lens.

I use a Durst M605 enlarger.
I have an 8omm lens that mostly frustrates me (120 film). I need something that will allow me to get the enlarger head up a little bit without going to the ceiling. What do I want and is there a direction I can go to look for a deal on it?

Thank you.
