Sounds very much like the way I did. I think inverted the tank once before putting it down, but I don't think that explains it. Strange.....

I used 6ml of Rodinal with 600 ml of water. The mixture was "shaken not
stirred", poured into the tank, the tank was given a sharp rap on the heel
of my hand and then left untouched for 25 minutes. I then stopped, fixed and
rinsed as normal.

I tried this some weeks ago and the negs looked fine, but I didn't print any back then. When I read your mail I just had to try and print some of them out of curiosity. My negs are not thin, rather the opposite, and the contrast seems to be just a little bit too high. But then I use a condenser enlarger, so maybe 20 minutes would be better for me. I thought this is a brilliant and easy way to develop Efke R25.
I wonder what went wrong for you. Was the developer properly mixed?

============================================================================I just tried the 25 min thing with a 120 roll of Efke 25 and got some pretty awful results. I used Rodinal 1:100 with 30 secs pre-rinse and got what I think are really thin negatives. I also have a dark streak, which I think was at the bottom of the tank.

Not me, that's for sure. But the 25 min thing works like a champ. Efke
25
really sings this way, so I now know what the fuss is about with this
film.
I want to do some outdoor portraiture with it to see how that looks.
I've
got a hunch it will be real nice. The "rule" is that semi-ortho films are
better for men, but I want to try it on women too. I think it will carry
the fine skin tones and textures very well.
