A carbon fiber camera would cost both arms, a leg and a kidney, but it seems
like the perfect material for a field camera. Used in a studio alone, then
weight really doesn't matter that much. Yet with the workings of a LF camera
it would be difficult to automate much of the process and autoclaves are not
cheap. Probably no way one could turn a profit on it, but its a cool idea.



I wonder if fiberglass would work too?

The one nice thing about an ABS body is that this has no environmental
dimensional change. The bad thing about ABS is that it likes static electricity
and is an attractor for dust. If someone where to create a 3D printer camera,
I'd love to see it implemented in a carbon fiber composite ... except I already
have too many cameras :)
