Hi Michael
thank you for pointing this out, it's very good.

Hi Brian,
If you want to cut something out, there's another great way in addition to splitting the phrase. Phrase splitting cannot be done in all cases. If one wants to split a phrase, which is 15 or 30 minutes long, something in a music recording for instance, it's best to disable book creator mode and place section markers at the beginning and end of the passage, which one wants to delete. In normal mode, the Plextalk offers rehearsal, so that one can listen to a sample of the passage, one wants to mark several times. This works like the rehearsal of a Minidisc recorder. One can shift the marker backwards and forwards while listening to the passage. One can set section markers very precisely with that method. After one has set the marks, one can delete the unwanted section and do the audio export on the PC.

Hi
Having recently obtained my PTR2, I have a couple of questions which I cannot find answers to in the manual.
1. I think I know the answer to this but I am just confirming.
I recorded an audio presentation today and in so doing, I used the feature
in Book Creator mode where I can pause the recording, navigate to the
previous phrase, and then re-commence recording to overwrite the section of
my recording where I had made an error.
When I listened to it back on the pTR2, the presentation was perfect in
every way despite severlal edits made using the above described method.
However, when I transferred it to my computer, I found approximately twelve
MP3 files on the CF card. Not only had every new take commenced the
creation of a new MP3 file, but in addition the mistakes I had made in
delivery were still retained.
Presumably, what happens is that when editing on the PTR2, the DAISY files
other than MP3 get edited. Thus, when you play the presentation on a daisy
player, everything is fine. But it seems as if you cannot edit audio on the
PTR2 and play it back in MP3 format on a computer and have your edits
preserved. Is that correct?
2. It is easy on the PtR2 to edit by phrase or heading and the manual
describes this logically. However, imagine a situation where I have taken a
breath which is audible, then I have paused the PTR2, released the pause
control, and taken a further breath. What is the best way please of editing
out the second breath on the PTR2 as this clearly does not constitute a
phrase. Can I make the second breath a phrase, then cut it?
Thank you for any help.
