Hi Andrew
Thanks, I guess I had better install the PRS software onto my computer.

Hi Brian,
On your first query, that is correct, the daisy data gets updated and the MP3 files run on a sequential basis - that is, they are written to sequentially, are never manipulated after being written to, and if you go and do edits the MP3 files may be in all sorts of order. The main reason for this is it is very difficult to do this when writing to a CD.
The best way around this is to open the book into PRS, then do an audio export from the DAISY files to plain MP3 files. What happens then is each section is saved out into MP3 files. You can also re-encode if necessary.
Regarding your second question, the best way of getting rid of your breath is to split the phrase up using the join and split phrase command, so that the phrase you remove just contains the two breaths. You can then delete that phrase. Remember, however, that this will still be in the MP3 files until you did an audio export using the PRS software.
Thanks. Andrew.

Hi
Having recently obtained my PTR2, I have a couple of questions which I cannot find answers to in the manual.
1. I think I know the answer to this but I am just confirming.
I recorded an audio presentation today and in so doing, I used the feature in Book Creator mode where I can pause the recording, navigate to the previous phrase, and then re-commence recording to overwrite the section of my recording where I had made an error.
When I listened to it back on the pTR2, the presentation was perfect in every way despite severlal edits made using the above described method. However, when I transferred it to my computer, I found approximately twelve MP3 files on the CF card. Not only had every new take commenced the creation of a new MP3 file, but in addition the mistakes I had made in delivery were still retained.
Presumably, what happens is that when editing on the PTR2, the DAISY files other than MP3 get edited. Thus, when you play the presentation on a daisy player, everything is fine. But it seems as if you cannot edit audio on the PTR2 and play it back in MP3 format on a computer and have your edits preserved. Is that correct?
2. It is easy on the PtR2 to edit by phrase or heading and the manual describes this logically. However, imagine a situation where I have taken a breath which is audible, then I have paused the PTR2, released the pause
control, and taken a further breath. What is the best way please of editing out the second breath on the PTR2 as this clearly does not constitute a phrase. Can I make the second breath a phrase, then cut it?
Thank you for any help.
