Brian,

This is simply a difference in the way that Dolphin and others implement the
way of accessing the phrase navigation feature.

Dolphin products tend to include the phrase navigation option on the
navigation menu as with the level navigation as you mentioned.

Other products like the Plextalks (PTR1, PTR2, PTN1) implement phrase
navigation with the use of other keys rather than it being an option on the
main navigation menu. As Steve mentioned, the keys either side of the
Play/Stop button will give you this functionality when pressed and released.

I should also point out, however, that on the PTR2, you can also select
whether you want these 2 keys to act as phrase jumps backwards or forwards
or alternatively to act as 5 second jumps backwards or forwards. This
selection can be made in the "Control Panel" then "Select the moving
behaviour for Forward and Back". Whichever choice you make will remain
until you change it again.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Jamie

Subject: phrase detection

Hi

I have recorded a series of daisy books predominantly using Easy Publisher
from Dolphin, however I have created a small book sample using the PRS
software to see if this problem resolves itself which it does not. So the
authoring tool does not seem to change things.

When I write the book to CD and put it into the PTR2 for testing purposes,
the phrase item is not available, only levels 1 through to 4 as I have
specified in the structure. However, when I use Dolphin Easy Reader, or the
Victor Reader Stream which are the other daisy players I have available to
playback the books, the phrases are correctly identified. Is there any
reason why the PTR2 does not like my phrase detection and if so is that
likely to affect other players as well?

Thank you.
