Hi,
Yes, the Key Describer mode can be turned on and off by pressing and holding
down the Menu Key. It has to be held down for around 5 seconds and the unit
will beep and announce the state is in.
The Menu Key is the top right key of the 4 keys that surround the indented,
circular Play/Stop button in the centre of the front face of the unit.
