Hi,

I just got back from Tunisia, the server was QRV during the entire week
I stayed there.
Monitoring the server from Tunisia was not easy. There was no hsdpa, no
gprs, no wlan and
of course I got no permit to operate pskmail from there (felt like I
had time travelled to the middle ages).

There was one "internet pc" at the hotel (dialup?) and that was either
not working or very busy.
I tried using my Sangean ATS-505 to listen and I did hear a few beacons
but they were weak.

Normally I use the gmfsk.php script to monitor the server and ssh for
everything else.
I use the putty ssh client, http://s2putty.sourceforge.net/ , in my
phone (Nokia N95) so I usually
look at the gmfsk.php page once in a while and connect using ssh when
needed.

I run the server under a screen session. If you are unfamiliar with that
then it will let me attach
to the terminal running the pskmail server from anywhere. What I mean is
that I run screen in
a terminal on the server and within that terminal session I launch the
pskmail server. When I
connect using my phone I just enter "screen -D -R" and I get the "local"
terminal on my phone.
When I am done I just disconnect from that session using "screen -d" and
then terminate the
ssh connection.
