This might be of interest for anyone who has developed a PHP application on
Project Aon's web server. We'll also want to keep an eye on our website
which runs on a PHP wiki to make sure it continues to function after the
changeover.

We just wanted to remind you that an important PHP upgrade will be
performed next week on the following domains you have hosted at DreamHost:

   - http://projectaon.org

Starting on June 24th, we will begin automatically upgrading those domains
from PHP 5.2 to our current recommended version, PHP 5.4. You will get an
email when the upgrade is complete.

No need to worry -- if you find that your sites aren't working as expected
after the upgrade, you can immediately revert back to PHP 5.2 by going to the
Manage Domains tab of the DreamHost Panel

We're upgrading PHP because:

   - PHP 5.2 is no longer getting security updates from the developers,
   php.net;
   - PHP 5.3 is will be unsupported by php.net by the middle of the year;
   and
   - PHP 5.4 is well tested, stable, and has been in production on sites
   around the world since March 2012. You can check out all the cool

Most of your sites should upgrade just fine from PHP 5.2 to PHP 5.4.
However, there are some cases where sites with outdated web applications,
including One-Click Installs, may function incorrectly. We strongly suggest

If you do decide you want to upgrade at your own speed, no problem! Just
turn off auto-upgrade in the panel by clicking 'delay' for your domain, and
take your time. Well, take as much time as you need as long as it's before
November 3rd, 2014, when PHP 5.2 will be completely removed from our
hosting environment!
