Hey alan... Converting to mesh isn't too hard... Don't give up hope yet ;) Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile -----Original Message----- From: Alan Wolfe <alan.wolfe@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 8 Apr 2009 08:32:14 To: <project1dev@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [project1dev] Fwd: MilkShape 3D Registration Here's what Mete (the creator of milkshape) had to say about milkshape crashing on importing a maya file that chris made. might be worth a try... however, it makes me lose faith in milkshape. If you have an importer, why does it just crash instead of either handling this case or at least showing an error message. I fear i have doomed us all by using the ms3d format lol. If we cant get it to import any other reasonable format (and can't find a way to convert through other means) we might have to switch booo ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Mete Ciragan <mciragan@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, Apr 8, 2009 at 2:35 AM Subject: Re: MilkShape 3D Registration To: Alan Wolfe <alan.wolfe@xxxxxxxxx> Hi, I quickly looked at the .ma file and noticed, that the cube is not in form of vertices and triangles. It might help to convert the polyCube1 to a mesh first. An artist sent me this attached model as a test and milkshape crashes when I try to import it. I checked out the model in maya and it's a pretty simple object so i know he didn't just break things by having a million verts or anything... :P He was saying this is a "maya 2009" file. Thank you!
