question about Jaws Scripting

Hi folks,
I hope not to be off topic.
I'm trying to create a script for an application: it simply should
read the line (should do as I would press insert+up arrow) when the
menu bar is active.
This is how I tried to do, but I think I'm doing something wrong:
Script ReadMenu ()
if MenusActive ()
then
SayLine ()
EndIf
EndScript
