I will try it in a moment. I just want jaws to speak some text. I am building the classic Battleship; right now it is in Autoit because that is the language I know best for gui stuff, plus doing hotkeys (like arrowing around the playing grid) is really easy. I wanted sayTools so I can tell Jaws exactly what to say, instead of trying to arrow around a bunch of labels or some other unreliable method of movement. I tried sayline.exe, but I think the object is a bit faster. I can always use sayline.exe if I need to, but I also like the idea of having access to so many sapi methods should the user not have a screenreader active or installed (like running the app from a thumb drive on a friend's computer or something). Thanks.

Have a great day,
Alex

Hi Alex,
I just uploaded a new build that hopefully fixes the problem. Let us
know. I'm also curious what aspects of SayTools you are wanting to use.
There may be another way of accomplishing a task besides using the COM
server.

Thanks,

Subject: more saytools dll error info

Hi all,

I just discovered regsvr32.exe and figured I would give it a shot to
register SayTools.dll. It failed, and I have pasted the error below.

regsvr32.exe - Unable To Locate Component graphic 26
This application has failed to start because MSVCP71.dll was not found.
graphic 308 Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
OK

Hitting enter from there gives me this error (summarized since jaws would
not virtualize the dialog):

The module C:\Program Files\SayTools\SayTools.dll was loaded, but the call
to DLL register server failed with error code
0x80040201

Have a great day,
