Hey Tyler -- Great news! What school are you going to? When do you start? Do you want to work during the semester or just before? If you want a quick programming job, have you looked at www.rentacoder.com? When I was in school I worked as a teaching assistant and tutor/consultant nearly the whole time I was there. I enjoyed consulting, but of course this is only needed during the semester so you'd have to work while studying. I recommend teaching/consulting as the process of teaching helps you to understand the subjects you teach a lot better, which can assist you in more advanced classes. Good luck and I hope you stay in touch. --le ----- Original Message ----- From: Tyler Littlefield To: BlindGeeks@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, April 07, 2009 10:05 AM Subject: looking for work and tutorial. Hello list, I plan on making the trek to Massachusetts sometime within the next year for college. I need to start lining up scholarships, getting college going and etc, but I'm looking for some work I can do part-time, that will enable me to make some extra cash. I'd like to be able to rent something more than the box behind McDonalds, so I'm working on finding a job to work at, preferably coding, server admin, tech support, etc. Just something that will bring in the cash. For those that don't know, I'm learning python, and have had experience with c,c++,c# and others. I'm experienced with linux (debian mainly), and server administration. I plan on getting a cheap computer that I can put vista and duel boot Linux on so I can learn vista for tech support. I am good with xp, 98 and 2000. I've also done some web design and php work in the past, and have used AutoIt for scripting. I'm also looking for a tutorial on direct x with c# and game design. I've mentioned doing this before, but I'm actually getting serious about working on it. A game engine that would handle the mapping and etc would be great, but I was told the game engine for GMA would run me about 2k; I'm not willing to spend more than I'd make on just the game engine. Thanks, Tyler Littlefield Web: tysdomain.com email: tyler@xxxxxxxxxxxxx My programs don't have bugs, they're called randomly added features.
