Ok, well, I just discovered something & I feel a little stupid but... Evidently, IE's default prefix is http:// & Firefox's appears to be www. So, IE accepts localhost just fine because it prepends the http://. Firefox, on the other hand, it would appear, prepends www, & the result is thus predictable. Therefore, in firefox, http://localhost works--localhost, on the other hand, craters. Wonder if that behavior can be changed? I'll have to look in its about:config. Like I said, I feel kind a dumb, but if my stupidity can now help some1 else, I figured I should share w/the list even if it means I have egg on my face. Scrambled, really firm, please.
