Thanks as usual big guy. I will try it. The caching goes on in three places. The page and the stylesheet can be cached in the Browser, on the host server or even in a cookie. Last night I put a Output declaritive with location set to "None" on the Content Page but that did not help. Note that VWD would not let me put it on the Master Page, validation errors occured when I tried that. It appears that if I use a Master Page Asp is caching both the Master Page and the Stylesheet. I will read up more on your suggestions today and test any coding ideas. Microsoft may have changed something in Framework 3.5 as I don't remember this problem in VWD 2005.
Well, another day wasted, hope today is better. Rick USA----- Original Message ----- From: "Punit Diwan" <punitdiwan@xxxxxxxxx>

Ricks, I searched in MSDN and as I was expecting MS provides 1000 ways to do a thing which does create confusion, confusion and confusion. Any howthere are several ways to disable catching. These are on Page Level, configfile and other. Here are I am telling a Method to do this in code. Tri the following code in Load of Page This may Help Response.Cache.SetNoStore() OR Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache) It prevents the browser from caching the page by setting the "Cache-Control" http header to "no-cache". http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...etnostore.aspx For complete details on Catching please visit here: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms178606(printer).aspx Hope this will definitely Help You Regards Punit diwan----- Original Message ----- From: "Ricks Place" <OFBGMail@xxxxxxxxx>To: <programmingblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, April 14, 2008 6:34 PM Subject: Re: VWD Stylesheet Caching problem Hi:Tried it, no go. The Stylesheet.css file works perfectly when I use it in aStandAlone Page. It is when I try and use it with a Master Page / Content Page senerio. I just tried putting an output directive in the Content Page twith the Location set to none but that did nothing. I tried to put it in the Master Page but got a validation error, VWD does not allow it.I tried using a theme but it acted in the same manner. If I had not already spent allot of time to build a specialized Login in a content Placeholder inthe upper right corner of the master page I would scrap the whole garbage. But the login, status and registration all appear in a nice corner of the master page and that took some work. Also, I would have to include it and the navigation menu on all pages, what a friggn mess, thanks Microsoft, can't you ever get anything to work in a straight forward manner? Anyway, I've been on this all day, since about 4:00 this morning and I'm giving up for the night. Hope I hear from someone who knows how to use Master Pages and cSs. I don't remember this problem in VS 2005. I hope someone has an idea. Rick Farmington Mich. But when I use it with a Master Pageit works the first time then no code changes get reflected in the browserafter the first change. I believe It is being cached. I set the Page Caching to On New Page in IE 7 but that did no good for the .css file. How do I stop IE from caching the stylesheet or how can I do it in Web.config or what in the blazes do they expect us to do to test changes to our Stylesheets? I just want to either turn off object, stylesheet, caching during development. If I change a Webpage it is reflected fine, just the stylesheet is not being refreshed when I look at in a browser.
