It probably has to do with the fact that you don’t have your permissions set
correctly on the file itself.

Subject: Problems with Visual C++ command line

Hello Listers,

I have Visual C++ Express installed on my Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium PC and
Jaws 12, most recent update.

When I try to compile a simple experimental program called “HelloWorld”, I get
no output except the fatal error message that it cannot open compiler generated
file HelloWorld.obj because permission is denied.

I would have expected some error messages or warnings from the compiler, and I
cannot find the file HelloWorld.obj (but I’m still having trouble with Windows
7’s search capabilities, so I can’t be sure that it is not there somewhere).

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

All the best,

Ian
