Hello:
Kathren was sort of correct, I think--where is this? If you don't have permissions to write to the folder you're in, you'll get that.

It probably has to do with the fact that you don’t have your permissions set correctly on the file itself.

Hello Listers,

I have Visual C++ Express installed on my Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium PC and Jaws 12, most recent update.

When I try to compile a simple experimental program called “HelloWorld”, I get no output except the fatal error message that it cannot open compiler generated file HelloWorld.obj because permission is denied.

I would have expected some error messages or warnings from the compiler, and I cannot find the file HelloWorld.obj (but I’m still having trouble with Windows 7’s search capabilities, so I can’t be sure that it is not there somewhere).

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

All the best,

Ian
