I'll try those. I may need to play with eclipes a bit more before I ditch it but it seemed a bit daunting looking at it last night.

Eclipse is really good, but seeing as you've tried it, I'll recommend a few more. How about JCreator or NetBeans? They both work with Window Eyes, so I shouldn't think they would have too many problems with JAWS.
