Yeah, I understand that much. If you were using a toolkit it's cool, I was just thinking in terms of managing a large world full of a lot of tiles, etc.

Again you are not correct. As Jamal has pointed out python can use dll's so tool kits that you use in C++ will work fine in python as long as they have bindings. So you could create the UI with python and use dll's as the back end and still get the speed. In fact that is what you are doing with the tool kit you are working with for your jet fighter program. I could write the code you wrote in c# or vb or even python and the dll is the engine that is pulling the weight all the python code would be doing is gluing it together.

Well, I should've been more specific. For high intensive games, the speed of
python will slow things down somewhat. If you want a decent speed, c++ is
the way to go, or possibly java, though I don't know much about that; I've
just been told it's decently quick.

Do not knock python for larger projects. A large part of Google is python.
All their API'sare in python as well as other languages. The Braille plus
and Icon's entire interface and UI's are in Python. NVDA is python. It is
not a bad language. Any language can be good or bad it's all how you use
it.

o jesus, please don't get him into python.
I see plenty of bccs from him a day, I'd hate to see python.
Otherwise, I would back you up on the python thing. I wouldn't recommend it
for larger projects, though.
I'm working on a largish engine that does mapping and that that is written
in c++, (for the speed and all that).
I know GMA sells a game engine, but last I heard they wanted like 2k for it,
which is more than I'd net for a free game anyway, so, I'll just build my
own I'm thinking.
