Jamal's site is like candy to a hungry hacker... I mean in the positive sense, not the destructive hacker -- and of course inthane's site is great as well.. Thanks jamal, and all other contributors. I really planned on joining you in your developments but just have been busy with distractions. And Microsoft keeps belching out new stuff so I haven't been tinkering. If I had a project to tinker on ranther than endlessly downloading it would help, instead of wasting time inventing a game or some such to learn the languages I am interested in and get familiar with VS. I am in the process of getting a vista laptop so I can use the latest version of VS, but things have just usurped my available cycles. I want to look at NVDA for use on vista to see how it compares with jaws. I am running jaws 9 and have been reading with dismay all your posts about jaws and FS dragging its feet. I may have to change screen readers if this keeps up. And that takes tinker time. If anyone has in mind a need that needs to be met for which there is not a tool already in jamal's great collection, please let me know. I'm also available to bug fix and document, when I get my nifty laptop -- but at present I am running XP Professional. If there is something I can do on XP that would assist in this endeavor, please let me know. Happy hacking, and for those in the US, don't forget to vote in 3 weeks! --le ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jamal Mazrui" <empower@xxxxxxxxx> To: <programmingblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, October 14, 2008 12:31 PM Subject: RE: Complete JAWS 10 documentation in text format EdSharp is a free, open source text and programming editor. Its installer is available at http://EmpowermentZone.com/edsetup.exe The files in the archive are text that can be read by any editor, including Notepad. EdSharp includes some hotkeys that make navigation more convenient. For example, when on an entry in the table of contents, you can press F6 to go to its corresponding section in the body. Shift+F6 does the reverse, going from a section in the body back to the topic name in the table of contents (which is the first section of the file). Control+F6 lets you search for a topic based on any sequence of characters within its name. Alt+F6 searches for the next match. Control+PageDown and Control+PageUp go to the next or previous section andautomatically read its topic name.
