Yes, that line is in confignames.ini.

And just as a question, have the folks experiencing problems added a
devenv:15=Visual Studio 2010 line to their configNames.ini file?
I know the name says 2010 but I still use it even for 2017.

Hi,
I can neither confirm nor deny any such issues in 2017 c++ code. I’m
currently getting a solution from an earlier VS to build. Once I’ve
succeeded in that I’ll be turning my attention to feature addition and
debugging, hence, editing, so I’ll report back at that point.
Best wishes.

I am experiencing the same problems with Autocomplete while in a C# file.
Once autocomplete is invoked, and I make a selection, I either have to
switch back and forth between open windows in VS with the keystroke
Ctrl Tab. Or switch out of VS and back in with the keystroke Alt +
Tab. Either way it is very annoying, but at least there is a
workaround at this point and we are not left in limbo forever.
JAWS 18/17/16, VS 15.3.3.
Thanks.

On the editor problems, the text editor refuses to give screen readers
the font color. Example: black on black. For auto complete, when in a
text editor, autocomplete isn’t announced until you press down arrow.
After choosing an option from the autocomplete list, JAWS 18 and NVDA
2017.3 gets stuck in linbo, which takes ALT + TAB to bring the editor
text back in focus.

I'll do some testing later tonight and report my findings. I don't
remember ever having issues with this screen but haven't tried since 15.0.
Also Andy some more specifics would be nice, "editor problems" are is
awfully vague.

I was able to sign in using jaws, but I had to turn off application
mode by using jaws+z before the page would work. This was with 15.0
though, maybe it has stopped working in the meantime.
I will say the the post-sign-in account settings page appears to work
in 15.3.3 using jaws (I haven't tried signing out but I can move
between the links without trouble).

Yusef,
Many thanks for the tip - I'm in and activated now. I've also managed
to create a project from existing code, so it looks like my problem

Best wishes.

Hi Tim,
Even though it is the community edition, you need to sign in with
your microsoft ID to obtain a fre user licance. Follow the path File
menu / Account Settings. This screen was not accessible with Jaws and
NVDA, so I managed to sign in with Narrator.
Regards,
Yusuf.

I downloaded and installed VS2017 Community Edition on my laptop and
tried to create a new project from existing code. This repeatedly
made
VS2017 become unresponsive, forcing me to close it. Thinking that
the problem might be local to that computer, I installed it again
(using the same downloaded
installer) on another machine and attempted to run it. It now tells
me that my evaluation period has expired. Given that this is the
Community Edition, I find this baffling.
Can anybody offer any advice, please?
Best wishes.
