That could be neat. We could do something like the audio group sometimes does
with AccessibleWorld.

Jim, others? What would you think about doing something like that?

Jamal, Travis, Justin would you be willing to lend your expertise to the effort?

Regards,
J. R.

If anyone wants to do anything like this on a regular or semi-regular basis I
could set up a room on our site at:
http://www.vipconduit.com

We use an application called VIP communicator which I developed for the site.

Like, maybe we could make it a skype conference and those interested benefit
from the knowledge provided?
It looks like I need some of this and would be willing to help as well.

Him has his hat and might be able to provide a Coke for the effort. LOL

Ok, here I am with hat in hand. I / we need help in the JAVA world and more
specifically with Eclipse.

As the messages below point out, we have a number of very talented
scripter's on this list, naming a few such as Jamal and Travis hopefully
would stir a sympathetic response from both.

We have an IDE that more or less is accessible, uses the native widgets and
is at least in most cases a Windows based IDE. I need to essentially clean
it up and have a few things announced. I'm willing to do most if not all the
work but I need some guidance from the scripting gurus. Anyone willing to
take me on as an apprentice?

Jim

Jim,

Remember here, LOL, I'm still pretty much just a beginner at scripting as
well. I'm just enough further down the path that I can make REALLY BIG screw
ups. <smile> It would be nice to bounce some of this off Jamal on the
programming list.
He is a VERY good scripter. He was one of those instrumental in the
development of the script set for Microsoft Visual Studio 20xx.
He could probably shed some interesting insights on the subject.

Another person would be Travis Roth, another VS20xx developer and good
scripter.

Unfortunately, my favorite source of knowledge has returned to the bowels of
FS and they don't let him out any more to talk with us mortals. <grin> He is
the one that I would consider the ultimate wizard of scripting. I wish I had
enough $$$s to have his time for a week to look into this and provide some
suggestions and guidance.

Anyway, there you have it from my perspective.

Btw, you are talking about Dallas the TV show? Better yet I even have a
brother named Bobby. How about that? Lol

...just as a passing thought, each time I hear your name JR, I'm reminded of
JR Ewing.

I've begun to look at the scripting but the coloring of a commented line
doesn't appear to be a control nor object. ...but I'm a beginner here so
what pointers would you offer to get me up and going?

Jim,

Also remember, part of the issue is that we are not dealing with the access
bridge here. We are, as I understand it, are using the native accessibility
of whatever Eclipse is using. If Jaws sees it as a control it can do
something about then you can handle the control with jaws. Have you looked
at the hierarchy of controls and windows?

Hi:

OK, I've been in denial for the past eight years with regards to
scripting.... So now I have to take the plunge.

I've a tutorial on scripting so that's not really the issue at the moment,
what I want to accomplish is while scrolling an editor if a line of code is
commented out, there usually is a light blue hi-light around the commented
line. Can I detect this color enhancement and if so can I add my own comment
to the indication of the line. I would like for it to say somehing brief
like just the word comment?

Since we are all in the same boat, perhaps this could be a group project.
Those of you who are scripters and those of us that are high end users of
the IDE could get our heads together? What do y'all think?

J.
