Andy: Let's say you have a plain old Java application and you create a new project in the workspace. Every time I do this the Welcome Screen is displayed. If I then later switch perspectives and select a J2E / JEE perspective and then create a new project the Welcome screen is once again displayed. I've chased it around until I'm blue in the face so what I do now is have a sighted workmate come over and click it with the mouse. Not even with the JAWS cursor. The only way I see a "welcome screen" is after installing something from the help>install new software menu item, or when you run eclipse for the very first time. In either case, all I ever needed to do was down arrow to workbench and hit enter on the link. From that point on, the welcome screen has not bothered me. Unfortunately, linux is a different story. I can still get to the links, but it requires pressing tab. -----Original Message----- From: program-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:program-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Corbett, James Sent: Wednesday, October 10, 2012 11:46 AM To: 'program-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [program-l] Re: Eclipse and focus issue Andy: It's there if you care to search, it's almost like its just a blank and it will byte you every now and then. Make sure your laptop has the newest windows updates. I never did get a welcome screen with new projects. -----Original Message----- From: program-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:program-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Corbett, James Sent: Wednesday, October 10, 2012 11:24 AM To: 'program-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [program-l] Re: Eclipse and focus issue Hi: Try closing the Welcome Screen that pops up with each new project. I have had similar issues that seem to be wide spread and have chalked it up to the latest update of JAWS 13.0. When I'm in the editor, I find sometimes focus shifts to other parts of the app, and soetimes, the app focus disappears all together. I disabled my touchpad, thinking that could be the issue, but that didn't help. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a setting about which I am forgetting that will help me have a more pleasant eclipse experience. This machine is new enough that I haven't had time to discover if the focus issue happens in other apps. Thanks for any help you can give. I'm using eclipse for a course I'm in, so it's crucial I get things working as soon as possible. I'm using jaws 13 in case this factors into the equation. ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** program-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
