Closing the circle on this message the site I reference to get VS Code
in to portable mode toward the bottom references tmp and if you want
you can make a tmp directory in data. If you do this you'll have the
problem I reported here, rebooted the box, which freed up the handle,
took out tmp from that data directory, loaded up VS Code, opened up a
workspace then made a change, saved, exited, then moved the folder,
not a problem. So in short no tmp in the data directory. Here's the

Thanks for your reply. There's a way to run VS Code in a portable
mode. I can't find the link, but basically it boils down to download
the zip, extract it somewhere, and in that folder create another
folder called "data" and in that folder create another folder called
"tmp" and then run VS Code.
I don't get why this is happening, this is with 1.72.1 version but it
happened in the previous version as well.

Hello,
I'm using VS Code portable version. I open a folder, and edit some
files, then save. I then close VS Code. When I atempt to move that
folder to another location I'm told that the folder is in use. Why is
VS Code keeping these folders locked and is there a fix?
