I've never developed ia Swing application, it's either been a web interface or
a desktop GUI.... So to tell you directly what things are needed would be next
to impossible. However there is documentation as I indicated previous.

Yes I know that SWT is accessible, but it is not prefered by most Java
programmers, maybe because it is not based only on Java, or maybe because
the number of SWT widgets is not very big.

I asked about what should we do for making a SWING program accessible
because I've made a kind of Hello world program using SWING, but I didn't do
something special and I didn't use special plugins, however the program was
accessible with Java Access Bridge.... Well, kind of accessible, because
Java Access Bridge doesn't offer full accessibility like the native controls
do.

There is documentation on the Sun / Java site for creating accessible Swing
Gui's including source code and the add ins I previously mentioned.

I use SWT from Eclipse / IBM to create my user interface and don't have to
concern my self with anything but programming because the SWT Tool Kit is
fully accessible with out extra coding.

What should the developer do in order to make the Java programs accessible?
(The most important points)

...merely downloading and installing the Access Bridge will not ensure that
your application written in Java will be accessible. There has to be
underlying code written as well as several add ins installed.

So, if the developers didn't take the time to developed in an accessible
manner, then your stuck in the mud for a good long time mate.
