Memory has sure gotten complicated! I remember the day when RES meant you
could count on it being a honest set of bytes on a simple DRAM chip...
I pushed the second patch. I also cherry-picked and adjusted it to newlib.
The main differences were the section heading numbers changed.

The attached represents a replacement for yesterday's patch.
I've tweaked the wording a bit and omitted any mention of RES exceeding
physical memory. While Samuel has demonstrated the phenomenon, it
probably doesn't represent a real life likelihood.
