Looks like it to me too Larry, but you know I'm not the expert! The cliff
swallow has the white forehead from running into the cliff; the bank swallow
has a bow tie dressed for work; and the barn swallow has a pitchfork tail. Now
if they will slow down, maybe I can ID one every now and then!
(Also need mnemonics for the other swallow/swift birds!😜)

As I began reviewing some of the pictures taken on the Saturday field trip
(thanks Kelly and Teresa for a great trip), I found that I had taken a few
pictures of swallows on lines. I thought these were all Barn Swallows but I
have found something that does not fit that ID. It looks like a Cliff
Swallow – I hit on that ID because of the white patch on the forehead. The
first picture is the one that originally caught my eye.

Not a quality picture (neither picture is quality) but I am hoping that this
is good enough to confirm ID. Cliff Swallow?

This picture shows 2 Barn Swallows on the left and the bird in question on
the right. Another Cliff Swallow? The coloring on the head looks different
but it does also have a white patch on the forehead. Perhaps the coloring is
just an artifact of the conditions and camera.
Or are the photos not of sufficient quality to ID the birds?
