Hey DIYers, I've received emails from a few of you regarding a public place to share information about ourselves. I encourage you all to make accounts on the blog and make a post introducing yourself! I've assembled a page of the notes on people I took at the meeting, visible here: http://sternlab.org/phoenixdiy/?page_id=5 . If you make an account on the blog, you can edit that page to update your info, too. (Those of you who have already registered, I approved your accounts as editors, which means you can post and edit. If you have yet to create an account, I'll have to manually change your account type after you register so you have editing capabilities--keeps out the spam robots.) Chris had mentioned that a nice icebreaker workshop might be on origami, especially since we have a few people in the group interested who might be able to lead (Kelly? Megan?). This would be fun, "easy" in that it doesn't require a lot of setup or complex materials, and a good conversation/collaboration starter. Does anyone second this plan? At the next meeting we could also start a round of presentations. Does anyone want to present a project? These could take many forms, but some ideas might be to go over what you set out to make, how you did it, what you learned (and what you would do differently), and what's next for the idea or project. Hopefully we can get our hands on a projector and a space to project in so we can all share wall-sized photos. Much love and a set of multi-sized screwdrivers, Becky
