Dear Ajith, dear All,
Ajith Kumar a écrit :
Hello All,
Controlling devices from software is fun, and easy when done with
Python. A small micro-controller board has been made to play with external
world devices using Python.
Some preliminary info is at http://expeyes.in/kuttypy/
A Video of RGB LED <https://youtu.be/5Mh4F4Z5cv4> driven by this Python code
<https://github.com/expeyes/expeyes-programs/blob/master/kuttyPy/software/blinkRGB.py>
.
Planning to give a tutorial of this during https://scipy.in/2017 along with
some other new developments, given at http://expeyes.in/.
I would like to ask a few questions in connection with the possible
build of a debian official package for kuttypy.
I visited
https://github.com/expeyes/expeyes-programs/tree/master/kuttyPy and saw
that one file is released under free-libre license, for example
https://github.com/expeyes/expeyes-programs/blob/master/kuttyPy/firmware/kuttyPy.c
comes with an explicit license header which declares "GNU GPL version 3
or above".
Please, can I consider that other files are also released under free
licenses? I see no indication, for example in
https://github.com/expeyes/expeyes-programs/blob/master/kuttyPy/hardware/microhope.sch
By the way, the file
https://github.com/expeyes/expeyes-programs/blob/master/kuttyPy/hardware/microhope.pro
bears references to files not published on github (those files may be
useless for the build of the schematics, if you confirm that those lines
are unnecessary, I shall try to remove them): here are the lines with
references:
------------------------8<--------------------------------------
LibName32=ATMEGA32
LibName33=EXPEYES-JUN
LibName34=/home/ajith/Jithin-KICAD-projects/MYSYM/proto1
------------------------8<--------------------------------------
The Python sources currently published come with no explicit
Author/licensing information.
Please can you confirm or invalidate the choice of free licenses?
If the subtree expeyes-programs/kuttyPy/software/ commlies with the
DFSG, debian free softwware guidelines, I would like to build the
package for kuttypy, either named "kuttypy" or as a part of the package
microhope, which is already featured in Debian/Ubuntu and other
debian derivative distributions.
Best regards, Georges.
