Hi..

Any and all comments are definitely welcome.

Ok so here is my latest idea for a book.

Nowhere to turn.

Like most people, Don Hunt thinks he lives in the lucky country
Australia, until through no fault of his own, his flat goes up in
smoke. Don looses his job in the car making industry. Don is a
qualified social worker as well, but can't get a job. No matter where
Don goes or who he goes too, Don can't find a job or a place to live.
In desperation, Don commits a crime only to find the prison system
overcrowded. Don ends up in one of the few mens hostels, mostly full
of criminals and he is violently attacked. Don gets out of hospital
and finds himself on the streets surviving on unemployment benefits.
Don turns to drugs and then religion in his desperate search to find
something to fill the emptiness inside him. After a chance encounter
with the most famous name of the day, Don thinks he has found the help
he has desperately been looking for, but the help comes to an end with
a most shocking murder. Don climbs a bridge to end his life and
there, Don meets his salvation, the love of his life.

Once I got started with this idea, the whole story just came to me.
It's nearly finished and I'm happy to post the whole story to the
list.

I hope people will freely share the story.

The story is adult reading, all events are fictional as are all
characters. There is very little swearing in the book, but the book
contains scenes of a violent nature. The book also contains
references to drugs, political themes and some religious themes. Get
ready for the surprise in relation to Don's love of his life.

I expect to have the book finished including correcting any grammar
and spelling errors by July 31st.

I will post it to the list on this date. No copyright infringement is
intended towards any other authors. The book is completely free of
charge, and if you are ambitious enough, you have my full permission
to produce the book in any format you wish. All I ask is that if you
do this, you do this completely free of charge for all parties.

The book isn't very long, I expect somewhere between 100 and 200 pages
for the final draft. There will be an acknowledgements page and a
small dedication.

I wish to encourage any of you, if you have a short story, a book
you've written, don't worry too much about the money side of things,
please share it here.

Why did I write this story? Good question. I saw and heard something
on television about 3 weeks ago. I don't remember which channel or
what show. I do remember it was in Australia and it showed homeless
people. Three days later, I awoke with the idea so I began writing.
It's not my goal to become a famous published author. I love reading
books and I like the idea of writing my own. I only had to do a
little it of research into the whole homelessness situation in
australia. Believe it or not, there are some really genuine homeless
people in our country, even whole families who live in cars or shelter
wherever they can find places to go. Some of them don't even get
unemployment benefits because social services says they have no fixed
addresses. It's really happening every single day and right under our
noses.

I am eternally glad there are genuine charities out there trying to
help these people, and there are genuine people who need help and who
don't take advantage of the help they are given. It's hard to believe
that such people exist, but research suggests they really do. The
media love telling us about how somebody took advantage of some system
or ripped off the tax payers, but give no credit whatsoever to these
truly forgotten people.. It was also staggering to find out some of
these people have genuine disabilities, meaning the disability isn't
related to illegal drug taking.
