I've installed Ubuntu 10.4 on my ancient desktop and my Netbook (Using Ubuntu Netbook Remix) and I believe it's a good solution for those who are tired of spyware and viruses. I especially suggest it for those who have a spare desktop or laptop or children who have a knack for downloading spyware. (I see this a lot). The install instructions couldn't be simpler, or you can order a CD if you're not up to burning an iso file. It's got everything you need for surfing, playing music and uploading pictures. It will prompt you to install any additional software for these purposes and includes automatic daily updates. Use package manager to find thousands of additional programs. I've networked it with my Win 7 machine and it also shares printers easily. Go for it. You have nothing to lose but your security suite. http://www.ubuntu.com/products/whatisubuntu/1004features ========================= The list's FAQ's can be seen by sending an email to PCWorks-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with FAQ in the subject line.
