Vern your post didn't go to the list because you didn't remove the footer. I don't know if you saw the fix I posted for this yet: //www.freelists.org/post/pcworks/Fixed-All-email-in-Inbox-GONE-but-Inboxdbx-file-still-shows-thousands-of-emails-where-are-they (Interesting how FreeLists changed their archive format). I had to delete the inbox file to fix it. -Clint God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://www.OrpheusComputing.com http://www.ComputersCustomBuilt.com ----- Original Message ----- Clint, Sorry I'm a couple days behind on reading my email. This is a problem I had a while back. Here is a copy of an email I sent at that time. Remember that is the "unread" emails that were moved. Clint, Last week I wrote in about this problem. Well I looked at the inbox.dbx file and it said 73,365Kb after I emptied it. I moved all the unread e mails to another folder to save them. So I renamed that inbox.dbxx and the next time I started up Outlook Express the new inbox had the formerly read e mails I had lost. Also now when I leave that e mail account and then return, the read e mails are not disappearing as before. Strange situation but if you ever hear of it again this will work.
