Speaking of OCR, does anyone know if ALL types of OCR software require scanning at a massive DPI size? I'm not familiar with it. I've used some once or twice that came with a HP all-in-one, and it works great. But I had to scan at a massive DPI size for it to work. It was something the size of newspaper or magazine print. If an entire page had to be scanned to OCR, it would probably bring the PC to a halt. -Clint God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://www.OrpheusComputing.com http://www.ComputersCustomBuilt.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Hugh Vandervoort" OCR is extremely cool when you have a use for it. My roomie used to use a typewriter (Harold's the only one who knows what they are) and we scanned his novel into the computer with very few errors, saving him a lot of time. Google uses OCR to update their library database. To use OR, you have to select it when scanning. ========================= The list's FAQ's can be seen by sending an email to PCWorks-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with FAQ in the subject line.
