hmm... never heard of those file extensions. They're obviously not anything of the ordinary. One other suggestion, maybe, is to find a screensaver creation program, that maybe will make you sort of "unpack" the screen saver you have. I know nothing about coding, so I can't even say if that's possible. Wish I'd be able to give you a better answer. ::: Troth ::: ______________________ ICQ: 1717439 MSN: SirTroth@xxxxxxxxxxx Yahoo IM: SirTroth AIM/AOL: SirTrothX ______________________ ::: Original Message ::: Sent Thu, 8 Jan 2004 20:24:32 -0500 (Eastern Standard Time) by Jo Ann Weaver | Troth, | This is a screensaver I just bought. Did a search and found three files | located in C: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 One is obiously the screensaver program. | One of the others probaly contains the pics themselves. One says .msf and | the other .wx1 if this is any help. It is the Stardust screensaver. Windows | says it can't open the files. | Jo Ann | | | Well, it really depends... just because you installed the screen | saver, doesn't necessarily mean that it would have a specific folder for it. | Much of the older screen savers for Win98 and prior simply installed the | scr file in the c:\windows or c:\windows\system folder. | But, you can check for a folder with a name representing the screen saver | under c:\windows or c:\windows\system or c:\windows\system32 or | c:\windows\program files or simply the root c:\ | | If you have a shortcut to the the screen saver settings in your START > | PROGRAMS menu, you can right-click and do PROPERTIES and it should show you | the location of the file. | | | To unsub or change your email settings: | //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk | | To access our Archives: | http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ | //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ | | For more info: | //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk To unsub or change your email settings: //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk To access our Archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ For more info: //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk
