Hi Hank,
I have used AVG Anti-virus in the past and I liked using it. I stopped
when I kept getting an error message that it was loading a dll into a
memory space protected for Windows. I uninstalled it, deleted all the
stuff that got left in the applications folders in Documents and Settings.
I kept getting the same error and so uninstalled again, deleted the
application folder stuff and I installed avast. However I really liked
AVG and the reviews I have read are good. I know many on this list use or
have used AVG antivirus too. I have used the trail version of AVG
anti-spyware.

Hank,
I've never tried AVG, so I'm not the one to ask. Perhaps someone else

will reply to this with an opinion.

Peace,
GMan
